Juneteenth Exhibit Presentation

In celebration of Black History Month the Library is hosting a Juneteenth exhibit and presentation at 3 p.m. Thursday, February 15, on the 1st floor of the Chambers Library. Learn the complicated truth about Juneteenth and why slaves in Texas weren’t free until two years after Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation. Retired librarian and researcher, Phillip Tolbert, has curated the display and will tell the Juneteenth story. FOL will sponsor refreshments following the presentation.
